WX UNIT DISCUSSION 2100Z 2/22/2013

...WI AND ADJOINING STATES...

BIG STORM BREWING FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK:

CURRENT SYSTEM WEAKENING OVER WI AS IT SPINS OUT OVER THE WRN GLAKES REGION WITH SOME AREAS OF RISIDUAL LIGHT SNOW AND LITTLE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION EXCEPT FOR UPR MICH AND EXTRME NRN WI WHERE SOME LAKE ENHANCEMENT MAY GENERATE A FEW ADDITIONAL INCHES.

ONE PERSISTENT HEAVIER SNOW BAND CONTINUES ACROSS DOUGLASS, BAYFIELD, ASHLAND, AND IRON COUNTIES ATTM ALONG US HWY 2 CORRIDOR REGION WHERE ADDITIONAL 1-2 INCHES COULD OCCUR BEFORE DIMINISHING THIS EVENING.

ALL EYES WILL BE WATCHING THE UPSTREAM UPPER JET FLOW AS NEXT IMPULSE ORGANIZES OVER LEE OF THE ROCKIES AND SOUTHERN GREAT PLAINS LATE SUNDAY AND MOVES NORTHEAST TOWARD THE MIDWEST AND GREAT LAKES FOR MON/TUE.

THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR NOT ONLY A MAJOR WINTER STORM IN THE COLD SECTOR BUT ALSO AN EARLY SPRING SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL WITH SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND TORNADOES IN THE WARM SECTOR.

KEEP UP WITH THE FORECAST.
