Now that's a supercell! Hopefully that tornado didn't get too large and do extreme damage but it certainly is threatening:
Very often a supercell isn't really a supercell but it is given the term prematurely. This however is a supercell. Often we have mature thunderstorms that have a life cycle of an hour or two and they rotate and are called supercells. The terms and definitions are often used carelessly as there is an information overload today coupled with technology. However, there is no excuse for any lack of awareness of severe weather in this country and people that don't pay attention and get hurt are just simply not paying attention:
